Today, ACF-CASA will hold the August/September “End of Summer” General Meeting at a historic Tucson location, The Shanty. For over 77 years, this classic bar has served interesting imported beers to college students and visitors of Fourth Avenue. This evening, The Shanty will host a unique mix of industry presentations from Golden Eagle Distributors and Solar City and a cooking competition among local chefs and culinary students to crown the “Old Pueblo’s Best Hot Wings.”
Event sponsors Merit Foods and Key Foods have supplied nearly 100 pounds of wings for the competition. A panel of three judges will grade the contestants’ skills in taste, appearance and texture. At the conclusion of the event, attendees will be able to sample the entries as well as enjoy great drinks.
For full details, please see the previous posts regarding this event. ACF-CASA members and culinarians may attend for free; the general public is invited for a $5 entrance fee. (Be advised, the competition pool has been filled at this time… thank you for your interest.)
We hope to see you there!
